15 Things to Do Near Trilogy at the Vineyards in Brentwood
A local's guide to the best wineries, trails, dining, and outdoor adventures near Trilogy at the Vineyards — from a resident who's explored them all.
The Lifestyle Beyond the Gate
One of the first questions I get from buyers considering Trilogy at the Vineyards is: "What's there to do in Brentwood?" The answer always surprises people. This isn't the sleepy farm town it was twenty years ago. Brentwood has grown into a vibrant community with wineries, trails, waterfront activities, and a charming downtown — all within a short drive of Trilogy.
Here are my top 15 picks, from someone who lives here and actually does these things.
Wine Country on Your Doorstep
Hannah Nicole Vineyards & Winery is one of our closest neighbors. They host tastings, live music events, and private gatherings in a beautiful setting just minutes from Trilogy. It's become one of my go-to spots for weekend afternoons.
Tamayo Family Vineyards offers a more intimate, boutique experience with premium wines and a setting that feels like a weekend getaway without the drive.
McCauley Estate Vineyards rounds out the local wine scene with vineyard views, event hosting, and tastings that rival anything in Napa or Sonoma — at a fraction of the crowds.
And if you want to expand your wine horizons, Livermore Wine Country is a short drive away with dozens of world-class wineries, dining options, and wine-tasting events.
Outdoor Adventures
Marsh Creek State Historic Park offers hiking and nature trails through the East Bay hills — perfect for mornings when you want to get out early and enjoy some quiet.
Los Vaqueros Reservoir and Watershed is a hidden gem. Boating, fishing, hiking, and some of the most peaceful scenery in the East Bay. I recommend the trails on the north side for the best views.
Round Valley Regional Preserve is where you go when you want rolling hills, wide-open valleys, and the chance to spot wildlife. The trails here are scenic and well-maintained.
Contra Loma Regional Park in nearby Antioch has a reservoir for swimming and fishing, plus walking and running trails. A great option for warmer days.
Vasco Caves Regional Preserve is something truly unique — guided tours through geological formations with Native American rock art and diverse wildlife. It requires advance registration, but it's worth the planning.
Mount Diablo State Park is the crown jewel. Challenging hiking trails, scenic drives, and panoramic views of the entire Bay Area on clear days. It's about a 30-minute drive from Trilogy, and I never get tired of it.
Downtown and Shopping
Historic Downtown Brentwood has transformed into a walkable district with restaurants, coffee shops, and boutique stores. The seasonal events — farmers markets, holiday festivals, car shows — give it a genuine small-town-with-good-taste feel.
The Brentwood Farmers Market runs weekly in downtown and it's one of the best in the East Bay. Fresh local produce, artisanal goods, and a community atmosphere that makes Saturday mornings special.
The Streets of Brentwood is the local shopping center with dining, retail, and a movie theater. They host community events regularly, and it's a convenient spot for everyday needs.
Water and Waterfront
The Delta Waterways are one of Brentwood's best-kept advantages. The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta is just north of town, with marinas, yacht clubs, and boating that most Bay Area residents don't even realize is this close.
Antioch Marina and Riverfront offers easy San Joaquin River access for boating and waterfront dining. It's about 15 minutes from Trilogy.
A Bit Further Out
Downtown Walnut Creek is about 30 minutes west and offers upscale shopping, gourmet restaurants, and the Lesher Center for the Arts. It's a great day trip when you want a more urban experience without driving to San Francisco.
The Bottom Line
Brentwood isn't just a place to live — it's a place with things to do every day of the week. From wine tasting to hiking to Saturday farmers markets, the lifestyle here is active, social, and connected to the outdoors. That's what drew me here, and it's what keeps most of my clients once they arrive.
